She was born into a conservative family in Maharashtra.
Geeth, along with her parents, moved to Hyderabad, Telangana, where she pursued her higher studies. During her college days in Hyderabad, she developed an interest in acting. In an interview, Geetha talked about this and said,

The character demanded a certain mood. So, director Damodar instructed me to avoid any conversation with co-star Anand because it could affect the emotions portrayed on-screen unknowingly.
