| Controversies | On 6 April 2017, Gaurav Kapoor uploaded a video of his live performance, in which he cracked jokes about 'Royal Enfield Bullet.' He was heavily backlashed and trolled by so-called 'Bullet Lovers.' The offenders trolled Gaurav to such an extent that his shows got cancelled. Gaurav Kapoor is a Delhi-based stand-up comedian and a rising name in the Indian comedy circuit. He is a journalism degree holder, who quit his corporate job, to turn into a full-time comedian. His genre of comedy is a mix of observational and anecdotal comedy.
Gaurav actively participated in extracurricular activities, like debate, extempore, dance, etc. He explored comedy during his college days when he secured 1st position in a stand-up comedy competition at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay University.

During his graduation days, Gaurav was also an aspiring SSB candidate but was unable to taste success in it.

Before entering the comedy circuit, Gaurav worked as a retail planner at ‘Reliance Brands.’ Thereafter, he worked as an assistant manager at Pantaloons for almost three years. Gaurav was also nominated as the ‘funniest guy in the group’ in his office events.
Gaurav has won various open mic competitions in the Mumbai circuit including ‘Big Mic’, ‘Canvas Laugh Club,’ ‘Chalta Hai,’ and ‘Buzz Off.’
He got his big break when he opened the show for the famous stand-up comedians like ‘Vir Das ‘ and ‘Russell Peters, ‘ during their ‘Almost Famous World Tour’ in Delhi.
In 2018, Gaurav’s solo stand-up special was released on Amazon Prime Video titled, ‘Hahakaar.’ It was an accumulation of his life experiences and random jokes.
Gaurav is an active YouTuber and uploads various stand-up videos. He has about two million views on each of his video and has a massive fandom. Although he believes that performing on stage is quite empowering, he also assumes the responsibility that comes along with it, and that the biggest challenge in comedy is a live audience. In an interview, he said,
I have two million views on my videos on YouTube, but it’s not easy to sell tickets.’
On 7 August 2020, Gaurav performed a 10 minute set on the show ‘Amazon Funnies’, a laughter fest featuring 14 prominent Indian stand-up comedians.
