In 1992, while pursuing graduation, Gajendra Singh was elected as president of the Student Union at Jai Narain Vyas University (JNVU). During college, he was a part of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad.
 He has also held the position of National General Secretary of the farmer’s wing of the Bharatiya Janta Party also known as the BJP Kisan Morcha.
He has also been a member of the Rajasthan State Executive of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Gajendra Singh is known for his contribution towards the expansion of the Jodhpur Airport on which he has been working for 18 years.
