He started his career as an assistant director when he was 18 years old. He worked with various Indian directors such as Aziz Mirza and Santosh Sivan in Hindi films like ‘Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani’ in 2000 and ‘Asoka’ in 2001.
In 2006, Faruk Kabir directed a Hindi-language short film titled ‘The Awakening.’
He has also directed other Hindi films like ‘377 Ab Normal’ in 2019, ‘Khuda Haafiz’ in 2020, and ‘Khuda Haafiz: Chapter 2 – Agni Pariksha’ in 2022. He has also penned the lyrics for ‘Khuda Haafiz: Chapter 2 – Agni Pariksha.’
