Farida Jalal is a veteran Indian actress, who is majorly known for her work in Hindi cinema.
She was selected in a Young Talent Contest held by United Picture Producer sponsored by Filmfare. She was the one among the selected girls, and the Late Rajesh Khanna was the one among the boys.
She was born in New Delhi and was raised by her grandmother and her mother as her parents got separated when she was 2.
She started her acting career in 1967 with Taqdeer and has acted in over two hundred Bollywood films.
She was a household name after playing so many motherly roles in the 1990s.
She acted in many television serials such as the hit sitcoms- Dekh Bhai Dekh & Shararat.
In 2005, she co-hosted the 50th Filmfare Awards alongside Saif Ali Khan and Sonali Bendre held in Mumbai.
