According to Fahim Fazli, when he was 12, he was separated from his mother, brother, and two sisters (Fahima, Suhail, Almara, and Mina) by Russian forces in Afghanistan during the Soviet Unionās invasion of Afghanistan in 1979. check sources Fahim Fazliās Instagram Post His mother, a midwife for Afghan President Hafizullah Amin, fled Kabul with Fazliās two sisters and a brother after Amin was murdered by the Russians as she learned that she was on a Communist hit list. Fahim Fazli, his father, and another brother, Hares, remained in Kabul, hoping to escape as well. Meanwhile, they started working with the Russian soldiers.
His entire family then fled from Afghanistan to Pakistan in 1983 and eventually immigrated to Southern California in America when the Soviet Union occupied Afghanistan.
