Some Lesser Known Facts About Ex-Muslim Sameer

  • Ex-Muslim Sameer was born into a Sunni family as Sadaqat Qureshi. After completing his studies till 8th standard, he joined Tablighi Jamaat and studied the Quran and other Islamic scriptures including Hadiths.

  • He also used to spread the message of Islam and even converted a few people of different religions to Islam while working for Tablighi Jamaat for 13-14 years.

  • In 2014, he felt that the Quran and other holy scriptures were full of contradictions which he found difficult to understand. He later contacted many molvis and other religious people but none of them could justify up to Sameerā€™s understanding.

  • He later stopped performing namaz (Islamic praying) and going to mosques. Many of his associates from Tablighi Jamaat later contacted him as he was not attending Jamaatā€™s meetings. He told them to find answers to his questions but none of them could do so.

  • Many of Sameerā€™s relatives asked his family to kill him for opposing Islam and even asked them to hand Sameer over to them so that they could kill him.

  • He also received threatening messages from many people after which his family asked him to start living separately. He later left his home and started living alone.

  • In 2018, he left Islam and converted to Hinduism after which he adopted the name Siddharth Chaturvedi.

  • Sameer later started making YouTube videos in which he quoted verses and content from the Quran and other Islamic scriptures which he claimed spread hate towards people of other religions.

  • He also appeared in many TV shows where he often debated many molvis and challenged the things written in the Quran.

  • He later became a member of the All India Ex-Muslim Association.

  • On 5 January 2024, he launched an e-book titled ā€˜5 Unanswered Questions About Islam From Quranā€™ on Amazon Kindle and Play Store.

  • Sameer came into the headlines in May 2024 when a video went viral on social media that showed him stepping foot on the Quran, tearing pages, and also burning it.
