Emma Corrin is of British and South African descent as her father is British and her mother is from South Africa.
Emma Corrin studied at a Roman Catholic all-girl boarding school where she developed an interest in acting and singing.
She took a gap year in her school to pursue a Shakespeare course at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and worked as a volunteer teacher at a school in Knysna, South Africa.
Her acting career took a pause as she was rejected from the drama school for two consecutive years.
In 2020, Emma was cast in the fourth season of the historical drama television series titled ‘The Crown’ which was about the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. Emma played the character of Diana, Princess of Wales, The TV series was telecast on Netflix.

Emma went through a 6 month preparation period for the role of Diana in ‘The Crown’ in which Emma used to go through books about Diana and got to know what she was like through meetings with Patrick Jepson who was Diana’s former private secretary.
Emma Corrin first auditioned for Diana while still in school and she was destined to join the ranks of Oxbridge graduates who fall into the world of film and television right after graduating.
During her university days, Emma was called in for a ‘chemistry reading’ during the search for someone to play Camilla Parker Bowles in ‘The Crown’ however, the agent stressed this was not an audition, but she was just asked to read for the part of Diana off-camera.
Eight months after the reading happened, Emma was called for the auditions for ‘The Crown’ and Emma Corrins perfected Diana’s slow and lilting voice by rehearsing with her mother Juliette who was a speech therapist.
In 2021, she was cast in an English theatrical play titled ‘Anna X’ in which she played the lead character of Anna. The play took place in Harold Pinter Theatre and The Lowry Theatre in England.

In 2022, Emma was cast in the historical romantic drama film titled ‘Lady Chatterley’s Lover’ which was the second American adaptation of the novel of the same name by D. H. Lawrence. Emma played the character of Constance ‘Connie’ Reid and Lady Chatterley in the film.
