Eenam Gambhir is an Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer of the 2005 batch. She has been appointed as a Counsellor in the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations in New York.
During her tenure as UnderĀ Secretary at the Ministry of External Affairs in Delhi, she handled matters related to Indiaās neighbouring nations, with a particular focus on countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iran.
While working as a counsellor at the Permanent Mission of India to the UN, she represents India on a range of topics, including security council reform, counter-terrorism, cyber security issues, and security council regional matters.
In 2007, during her probationary period in New Delhi, she also worked on UN economic and social issues.
She also holds the position of Senior Adviser on Peace and Security matters in the Office of the President of the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
In September 2016, she garnered attention in the Indian media after she delivered a speech at the United Nations Assembly, criticizing Pakistanās actions. Her speech was particularly focused on Pakistanās alleged support for terrorism. She said,
