Some Lesser Known Facts About Durgesh Kumar
Durgesh Kumar is an Indian actor who is known for his character Aadoo in the Hindi film Highway and for playing the role of Bhushan in the OTT web series Panchayat.
In 2001, Durgesh came to Delhi to pursue engineering, however, after not getting success in entrance exams he decided to join the theatre. He did around 35 theatre plays.
After joining the National Drama of School in Delhi he became part of the repertory Company of NSD through which he got his first acting break in the Hindi film Highway.
Durgesh revealed to a media person that during his struggling days his family was his most enormous support. His elder brother was the one who suggested Durgesh for joining the theatre when he did not receive success in the engineering entrance test.
Durgesh considers actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui as his biggest inspiration.
Addressing the media about his character in Panchayat 2 Durgesh said that
Doing small roles in various web series, is on cloud nine after the release of Panchayat 2. “I am actually surprised as my character of Bhushan or Banrakas has become such a hit. In fact, when I was performing I had no idea people would love it so much. I give full credit to the writer and director of Panchayat 2 for creating Banrakas”
In leisure time Durgesh prefers reading books. The book Hamlet by Shakesphere William is one of his favourite books.
Durgesh loves cooking. He is often seen posting his cooking images on social media sites.
In 2021, during the pandemic, Durgesh was the part of the show named Eco warrier that was related to corona and environmental problems.
Durgesh is an active member of Aranya theatre.
In 2022, after the release of the socio-political drama show ‘Panchayat 2,’ a meme based on one of the scenes from the show went viral on the internet. In the scene, the character Bhushan aka Banrakas, played by Durgesh Kumar, addresses his companion Binod, played by Ashok Pathak , “Dekh raha hai na Binod.”
