  • Duncan Norvelle grew up in Hoton, Loughborough, Leicestershire, England, in a middle-class family.

  • He was inclined towards comedy from a young age and often used to mimic his friends and teachers in school.

  • At the age of 16, he left his school and began working at a menswear shop. He worked there for around a year and left the job to pursue his dream of becoming a comedian.

  • Once, while he was on holiday in Bournemouth, Duncan won £20 in a talent show.

  • He then began working as a comedian in various TV shows

  • Duncan gained popularity with his catchphrase ‘chase me’ on the ITV variety show Saturday Royal in the early 1980s. On the show, he played a stereotypical camp homosexual.

  • In 1985, Duncan hosted the pilot episode for the dating show It’s a Hoot for London Weekend Television. Later, the show was renamed as Blind Date and was presented by Liverpudlian singer and entertainer Cilla Black.

  • Norvelle performed stand-up sets at the prestigious venue London Palladium in 1988.

  • In 1991, Duncan participated in the ITV comedy panel game show Through the Keyhole.

  • He then went on to appear in many English comedy shows like Wogan, Surprise Surprise, The Bob Monkhouse Show, Bullseye, Blankety Blank, and The Keith Harris Show.

  • On 16 January 2006, his “In The Club” DVD was released by Boulevard Entertainment.

  • Later, he also released the album “Music From My Life.”

  • In 2008, Norvelle went on a comedy tour for the Ricky Tomlinson Laughter Show.

  • After suffering the stroke, Duncan had to cancel his summer season with the comedy duo Cannon and Ball and was replaced by Stu Francis.

  • He later changed his catchphrase from “Chase Me, Go On, Chase Me!” to “Push Me.”

  • On 12 December 2024, he passed away at around 8: 15 am after suffering from chest infection and sepsis. He was admitted to hospital two weeks before his death.
