In 1997, Diwakar Dhyani started working in the media operations department of an advertisement agency named ‘Maccen Erickson.’
In 1999, he left his job and joined the theatre and started learning acting from Asmita Art Group in Delhi.
Diwakar Dhyani later joined the Sahitya Kala Parishad in Delhi, followed by learning advanced acting under the guidance of the drama director of the National School of Drama, Delhi.
In 2004, he moved to Mumbai to pursue his career in acting.
In 2005, he was cast in the Hindi political crime thriller film titled ‘Sarkar’ in which he played the role of a Henchman.

In 2018, Diwakar Dhyani was cast in the Hindi horror television miniseries titled ‘Ghoul’ which was based on the Arab folklore monster ghoul. The miniseries was the second Netflix original from India, after ‘Sacred Games.’ Diwakar played the character of a sergeant in the series.
