Controversies • Issues between Divya and Arnav
In 2017, Divya Sridhar and Arnav met while working on the Keladi Kanmani TV show. At the time, Divya was divorced and had a one-year-old daughter. Arnav, who had been previously married, informed Divya that his wife had passed away, and his siblings lived abroad. He expressed his desire to find a new partner. They started as friends and eventually fell in love, choosing to live together. During their five-year relationship, they purchased a flat in Vaanagaram. Divya contributed her jewelry and savings to assist in buying the flat. Following this, they both decided to get married. Arnav requested that Divya convert to his Muslim faith, and they had a private Islamic wedding in 2022. However, during the filming of the Chellamma TV show in the same year, Arnav developed a close relationship with his co-star, Anshitha Akbarsha. Reports suggested they became romantically involved, causing distress for Divya. She urged Arnav to acknowledge their relationship, leading to another wedding, this time following Hindu customs. Problems arose when Divya became pregnant with Arnav's child. In October 2022, she made allegations of abuse, harassment, and infidelity against Arnav. The police detained Arnav based on her complaint, and a case was filed. Arnav sought to have the case dropped through the Madras High Court, but the court refused, citing evidence of injuries on Divya's body. Divya also claimed that Arnav had deceived her out of 36 lakh rupees, cash, and gold jewelry. She alleged that he had a history of such behavior with other women and even posed as gay to defraud a man. She further claimed that he had married a transgender individual in Malaysia for financial gain. Divya posted evidence on social media to support her claims. Arnav denied all accusations and, in his defense, alleged that Divya had attempted to abort their child.
