Her other notable daily soaps are âAdhikaarâ (1988), âDaraarâ (1994), âSparshâ (1998), and âAbhimaanâ (1999).
After her TV serial âSparshâ (1999), she took a break from acting for almost five years, following her marriage.
Divya made her comeback in 2005, with the TV serial âSarkarr: Rishton Ki Ankahi Kahaniâ in which she played the lead role of âPriyamvada Vir Pratap Singhâ. The serial was aired on Zee TV.
She is a well-recognized artist in Bollywood films. In her debut film, âJab We Metâ (2007), she played the role of Adityaâs (Shahid Kapoor ) mother. The film was released overseas also and was a worldwide hit.
Some of her Hindi films as an actor are âEnglish Vinglishâ (2012) as Rupalâs mother, âDil Dhadakne Doâ (2015) as Saira Hashmi, and âPatel Ki Punjabi Shaadiâ (2017) as Vir Das âs mother.
In 2019, she essayed the role of Gursharan Kaur, wife of the former Prime Minister of India âManmohan Singh ,â in the film âThe Accidental Prime Minister.â The film is based on the controversial book âThe Accidental Prime Minister: The Making and Unmaking of Manmohan Singhâ by Sanjaya Baru .
