Diva Patang belongs to a Pashtun family in Afghanistan. Later, she moved to London along with her family.
In March 2013, she began working as the Head of the Visa Section at the Embassy of Afghanistan in London. She worked at the Afghanistan Embassy for more than 5 years up till November 2018.
She has worked as a sports presenter for the government-owned news channel named the Radio Television Network in
 Afghanistan. She has travelled with the national cricket team of Afghanistan to various tournaments across the globe.

Diva Patang has interviewed many National and international cricketers including the Indian cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and Harbhajan Singh and Afghanistan cricketer Rashid Khan .

In 2022, she announced that she would sponsor the education of all the girls in the city of Afghanistan where her parents come from when the Taliban lifted the ban on girls’ education; however, the Taliban took back their decision.
In January 2022, a video of Diva Patang and her brother Pamir Patang went viral on the internet. In the video, the duo was seen partying at a luxury club in London. After the video went viral many social activists and journalists criticized Diva.
In July 2022, she was appointed as director of the Diva Store Limited.
In August 2022, Diva Patang collaborated with the Afghan cricketer Rashid Khan to raise funds to provide relief in the Parwan province of Afghanistan during the floods.
