Dhruv was 7 years old when he started playing the piano because his mother told him that women are attracted to men who play the piano.
His great-grandfather, Saligrama Nanjundaya, was the first Indian administrator of Visakhapatnam port from 1945 to 1958.
In his college days, he joined the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Morning College Music Society.
Dhruv Visvanath’s unique guitar spanking technique has earned him titles like ‘Guitar Spanker’ and ‘One Man Band.’ He blends the classic technique of playing the guitar with percussive guitar technique.
He has a rock band ‘Dhruv Visvanath & The Trio,’ modelled as the Eighties rock band.
