In childhood, he used to watch his father’s films and gradually, he developed an interest in acting.

While he was in school, he started making Dubsmash videos and YouTube videos. He even directed an English short film ‘Goodnight Charlie.’
In 2004, he was offered a role in the Tamil film ‘M. Kumaran Son of Mahalakshmi’ (2004), however, he could not work in the film.
He also received an offer to act in the 2008 Tamil film ‘Pasanga,’ but Dhruv’s father did not want him to work in the films at that time.
In 2019, he made his debut with the Tamil film ‘Adithya Varma’ which was a remake of the Telugu film ‘Arjun Reddy.’ The film was also remade in Hindi with the name ‘Kabir Singh.’
