Some Lesser Known Facts About Dheeraj Wadhawan
His father, Rajesh Wadhawan, founded the Mumbai-based NBFC (a non-banking financial company), Dewan Housing Finance Limited (DHFL) in the 1980s.
Later, Dheeraj Wadhawan joined the company and began working as its promoter.
In 2016, Kapil Wadhawan and Dheeraj Wadhawan established Kyta Productions, which was led by Ajay Kapoor, a former T-Series employee.
Kyta Productions co-produced films like ‘Baazaar,’ starring Saif Ali Khan , released in 2018, and ‘Romeo Akbar Walter,’ featuring John Abraham , released in 2019.
He has worked as a managing director at Dheeraj and East Coast LLC in Dubai.

The fraudulent activities began to take shape between April and June 2018 when Yes Bank invested Rs 3,700 crore in short-term debentures of DHFL.
Dheeraj and Kapil were arrested in connection with a money fraud case in July 2022, and the CBI filed a charge sheet against them in the same year. However, they were granted statutory bail by the special court in December 2022.

Dheeraj Wadhawan received interim bail on medical grounds from the Bombay High Court for a separate matter as he was admitted to Lilavati Hospital for treatment.
