Some Lesser Known Facts About Dharambir Nain
In June 2012, when Dharambir Nain was pursuing his master’s degree, he went to a canal with his friends to swim. He jumped into the canal, but his neck hit the ground due to the low water level. This accident broke his spine, and the lower part of his body stopped working.
He started para-athletics in 2014 and was coached in the discus throw by Amit Kumar Saroha.

Dharambir Nain trains at the Sports Authority of India in Sonipat.
In 2016, he represented India at the Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, finishing 9th.
Dharambir Nain competed in his first World Championships in London in 2017.
He participated in the World Championships in Dubai (2019) and Paris (2023).
At the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo, Dharambir Nain finished 8th in his event.
