She demanded Rs. 5 lakh per month in maintenance for herself and their children, along with Rs. 25 crore in compensation. In February 2025, a Bandra magistrate court ruled that Munde refusing to acknowledge their marriage and not living as her husband caused Karuna emotional harm. The court also ordered him to pay Rs. 2 lakh per month as interim maintenance. However, in March 2025 Munde challenged this ruling in a sessions court and argued that the Domestic Violence Act did not apply since they never shared a household.
