Some Lesser Known Facts About Devi
He was born and brought up in a middle-class family in Chhapra, Bihar.

In childhood, she developed an interest in singing.
While she was studying in school, she used to participate in various singing competitions. When she expressed her desire to become a singer to her father, he enrolled her in a music school in Chhapra
After completing her class 10 from Chhapra, she took training in singing from Gandharva Sangeet Mahavidyalaya in New Delhi.
In an interview, she shared how she was named Devi. She said that she was born on the last day of Navratri.
She did her training in the Indian classical dance form at Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra, New Delhi.
In 2002, Devi started visiting various music companies to record her songs, but she did not get any positive response. After struggling for a year, her first album ‘Purwa Bayar’ was released in 2003.
She met Fabricio (a businessman) online through one of their common friends. First, she talked to him on WhatsApp, and after that, she went to Brazil to meet Fabricio. She also met Fabricio’s family. After being friends with Fabricio for a few months, they started dating.
Apart from the Bhojpuri industry, Devi has also sung songs in Bollywood. She sang the song ‘Razia Gundo Mein Phas Gayi’ in the 2011 Bollywood film ‘Thank You’.
After this, on 20 June 2012, her Bhojpuri song ‘Aile More Raja Leke Dhol Baja’ was released.
She has produced the 2013 Bhojpuri film ‘Jalsaghar Ki Devi’ and has also sung and acted in the film.
She has started an institution named ‘Devi Music Ashram’ in the Upper Tapovan area of Uttarakhand, Rishikesh, where people are taught Indian classical dance, classical music, meditation, and yoga.
She has performed in various stage shows. Apart from India, Devi has done stage shows in many other countries including Moscow, Bangkok, Bhutan, Mauritius, Qatar, and Dubai.
Some of her fans call her Lata Mangeshkar of the Bhojpuri industry.
She has mainly performed with the Bhojpuri folk singers Mahendra Mishra and Bhikhari Thakur.
Some of the popular Bhojpuri songs are ‘Kuwe Ka Thanda Pani,’ ‘Parwal Bechea Jaieb Bhagalpur,’ ‘O Gori Chori Chori,’ ‘Pardesiya-Pardesiya,’ and ‘Anguri Me Das Le Biya Naginiya.’
