Deven Bhojani was born in a Gujarati family.
He started his career as a theatre artist and did numerous Gujarati plays.
He got his first break in 1987 in the TV serial âMalgudi Daysâ, in which he played the role of Nitya.
In 1992, Deven assisted director Mansoor Khan for the film âJo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar.â He also played the role of Aamir Khanâs best friend Ghanshyam aka Ghanshu in that film.

He worked as a creative director for the popular TV serial âBaa Bahoo Aur Babyâ (2005-2010). His role âGopal Labhshankar Thakkar/Gattuâ in that serial gave him the household name âGattu.â
In 2004, he directed and acted in the famous TV serial âSarabhai vs Sarabhaiâ Season 1 that was aired on STAR One. He also directed and acted in the season 2 of this show which was aired on Hotstar in 2017.
