Having developed an interest in adventure activities during his teenage years, Devdatta Nage actively engaged in training individuals in trekking and river rafting during his college days. As he entered his 20s, he pursued a career in modelling and even showcased his talent as a professional sketch artist. In 2011, he entered the television industry and gained recognition for his appearance in the Hindi TV show Laagi Tujhse Lagan; however, it was in 2014 that he truly rose to prominence when he portrayed the character of Lord Khandoba, a manifestation of Lord Shiva, in the Marathi TV show Jai Malhar. His portrayal earned him widespread acclaim and opened doors for further opportunities in the industry.

He went on to showcase his acting skills in various Marathi serials such as Mrutyunjay Karnachi Amargatha, Kalay Tasmay Namah, and Bajirao Mastani. In 2020, he took on the role of Dadasaheb Surve (Deva Don) in the Marathi serial Doctor Don, followed by his appearance as Tushar Desai in Jeev Majha Guntala in 2022.

He entered the film industry in 2014 and portrayed the character of Inspector Shankar Gaikwad in the film Satyamev Jayate (2014), featuring John Abraham in the lead role. The film, based on the Hindu epic Ramayana, featured Prabhas , Kriti Sanon , and Saif Ali Khan . Devdatta shared his experience in an interview, revealing that he would chant āJai Sri Ramā every day before the shoot and said,
