Soon after, he lodged a counter complaint in which he accused her and her uncle of battery and abuse, leading to injuries. In March 2025, a video of him and Saweety went viral on the internet in which she was seen beating him in a police station in Hisar. The incident occurred when Saweety and Deepak were summoned by the police. Saweety later accused the cops of inactivity. Thereafter, Saweety conducted a live social media session in which she addressed the viral video and claimed that Deepak was gay, claiming that he had a preference for men. |

Some Lesser Known Facts About Deepak Niwas Hooda
Deepak Niwas Hooda, an Indian kabaddi player, rose to fame as the captain of the Indian National Kabaddi Team.
Deepak lost his mother at the age of 4 and later his father who died when he was in his 12th grade. This led him to take a break from his education and work to support the financial needs of his family. He began teaching at the very institute where he had been a student.
Parallel to his teaching role, he pursued kabaddi with fervor, often going to a nearby village for practice. His dedication helped him improve his skills considerably.
In 2014, he was part of Haryanaâs victory at the Senior National tournament in Patna, where they won a gold medal. He also played a key role in Rajasthanâs kabaddi team, helping them win a bronze medal at the 67th Senior National Kabaddi Championship.
During the 2014 Pro Kabaddi Leagueâs inaugural auction, Telugu Titans bought him in the auction for âš12.6 lakhs, the second-highest bid of the season. By 2016, he moved to the Puneri Paltan for two seasons and even became the captain of the team in the fifth season.

In the sixth season, he was signed by the Jaipur Pink Panthers for a whopping Rs 1.15 crore and later played with the Bengal Warriors in season 9.

If Deepak was not a kabaddi player, he revealed that he would have been a teacher.
His special move in kabaddi is the âRunning Hand Touch,â characterized by a swift, unexpected motion as the player attempts to touch the defenderâs hand and retreats to his safe zone.
He made his international debut in 2016 with the South Asian Games held in Guwahati and won a gold medal. The same year he also became a part of the Indian kabaddi team which won the Kabaddi World Cup.
In 2017 and 2018, he won a gold medal at the Asian Kabaddi Championship and a bronze medal at the Asian Games respectively.
After winning gold at the Dubai Kabaddi Masters in 2018, he stepped up as the teamâs captain for the 2019 South Asian Games where he won a gold medal.
