Roy began singing at a very young age. At the age of 10, she participated in a Zee Bangla singing competition TV series titled Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lâil Champs (2010) and took home the title of second runner-up.

Deboshmita took singing lessons from her father from the beginning. The father-daughter duo often performs together in concerts and shows.
