Daniel initially wanted to become the rugby player like his father but later, he chose cricket as his career.
He even represented his school âSt Gregoryâs Collegeâ in â2000 Football National Championship.â
At the age of 20, he joined the Australian Cricket Academy.
He later started playing for the âNew South Walesâ cricket team for the 2006-2007 season and made his T20 debut in 2006 against âQueenslandâ at Sydney, Australia.
When he didnât get the chance to play for the âNew South Wales in the 2007-2008 season, he then joined the âSouth Australiaâ cricket team and made his first-class debut in 2008 against Victoria at Melbourne, Australia.
In 2009, he played for âIndigenous Australianâ cricket team against âEnglandâ as captain.
He is the 3rd male âindigenousâ player to represent Australia, after Faith Thomas and Jason Gillespie.
He played his first T20 International match for Australia in 2010 against West Indies at Sydney, Australia, in which he picked 2 wickets.
In one of the ODI series against Sri Lanka, he took a hat-trick and maiden 5-wicket haul by giving just 31 runs.
