Some Lesser Known Facts About Dane Paterson
Dane Paterson liked playing rugby and cricket during childhood, but later chose cricket as his professional sport.
In 2016, he was awarded the 18th Altiorum for being selected as a Proteas (South African) cricketer.
In 2017, Bloem City Blazers acquired him for South Africa’s inaugural T20 Global League but the league was later cancelled.
In 2018, he was the highest wicket-taker for Paarl Rocks in the Mzansi Super League T20 tournament with 10 wickets in 11 matches.

In March 2021, he moved to England, signed a contract with Nottinghamshire, and took 51 wickets in his debut county season.
In 2022, he took 75 wickets across all formats in English domestic cricket, helping Nottinghamshire win Division Two. He then signed a two-year contract extension with them.

In April 2023, he took his 500th first-class wicket, playing for Nottinghamshire against Somerset.
In May 2023, while playing for Nottinghamshire, he took 5 wickets for 16 runs in the Northamptonshire.

He made his test debut in 2020, but since he bowls with a speed of around 120 kph (75 mph) and could not take many wickets, he was not selected again till 2024.
In December 2024, he was selected again for the series against Sri Lanka. He took 5 wickets for 71 runs in the first innings and 2 wickets for 33 runs in the second innings, helping them win the match.
