His grandfather, Hawk Koch, is a film producer and former president of both the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Producers Guild. His father Billy Koch worked on visual effects of films like Jerry Maguire (1996), Space Jam (1996), and Rugrats in Paris (2000).

At the age of 11, he worked as a child actor in the American crime thriller film Fracture, which was produced by his grandfather, Hawk Koch.
He then worked as a model for a while.
In 2015, Cooper was featured in the music video of the song Reflection by Towkio.
In 2022, Cooper played the role of Benjamin in the film Swallowed.

He has also appeared in the TV film Less Than Zero (2019).

During an interview for his film They/Them in 2022, Cooper talked about accepting himself as a gay man when he was young. He said,
When I was in high school and in my first year of college, I really didn’t want to be who I was, he told the outlet. And it took being in acting school to realize that if I want play other people, I need to be able to be myself.”
In one of his interviews, Koch shared that he was bullied as a kid. He said,
I have a thick skin and at this point in my life, I’ve, you know, been through bullying when I was a kid, I’ve been fired from a pilot because of it. But I also don’t tolerate it anymore. I just will turn the other way and walk away. And also, it’s like, yeah, if you’re gonna have that kind of opinion or you’re not gonna wanna work with me because my voice sounds a certain way or because I walk or talk or move my hands in a certain way, then I don’t wanna work with you either, babe.”
