Charithra Chandran was born in Perth, Scotland.
Both her parents are medical professionals. She is the only child of her parents.
Her parents separated when she was two years old, and she moved to India with her father, where she lived with her grandparents in Tamil Nadu.
When she was four years old, she returned to Liverpool, United Kingdom and started living with her mother, where she began her elementary schooling in a local school in Liverpool.
Later, Chandran attended Moreton Hall Preparatory Boarding School in Suffolk, England, from the age of six to eleven.

After that, she and her mother settled in Oxford, England.
Chandran finished high school at Oxford High School. Along with her academics, she was also very good at extracurricular activities and played national-level hockey and netball.
Later, she pursued her higher education at New College, Oxford University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics in 2019.

While pursuing her Bachelor’s degree, she interned at the Boston Consulting Group, focusing on the Public Sector practice area.
During her time at Oxford University, she participated in various plays and later joined the National Youth Theatre, Great Britain.
Charithra took a one-year gap after graduation, during which she did drama as a hobby.
During that one year, she also worked part-time at the New Policy Institute (NPI), London.
Chandran was offered a position at Boston Consulting Group, but she did not accept the job offer; she chose to pursue her acting career instead.
In an interview, Charithra mentioned that when the pandemic hit and she was without work, she began reaching out to casting agents.
After two months of sending emails, she received a call from an agent, and she bagged a role in the main cast of the spy thriller series Alex Rider (2021)Â as Sabina Pleasance for its second season on IMDb TV.
That same year, she made her Marvel Comics debut as a Bollywood dancer in the film Eternals (2021).
Before the shooting of Alex Rider was even wrapped, Chandran was cast as Edwina Sharma in Bridgerton Season 2 (2022). This was her most notable work, which brought recognition and appreciation to Chandran.
In interviews, Chandran mentioned that she was once very shy about acting, and her family initially wanted her to have a more secure career.
In June 2022, Charithra voiced the courtesan Camille for BBC Radio 3 in an audio adaptation of Pam Gems’ stage play, Camille, which is based on Alexandre Dumas fils’ novel La Dame aux Camélias (1848).
In 2024, she made her West End Theatre debut as Eileen in Rosie Day’s play titled Instructions for a Teenage Armageddon.

In that same year, she made her lead role debut in the Amazon Prime comedy film How to Date Billy Walsh (2024) as Amelia.
In 2024, Charithra played the lead role as Leela and served as associate producer for “Song of the Sun God,” a six-part drama series based on the novel of the same name by Shankari Chandran.
In 2025, Charithra played the role of Miss Wednesday in the live-action adaptation of the Japanese animated comic drama One Piece.
She recently captured the spotlight at the Wimbledon Championship 2025, where she drew everyone’s attention on social media with her stylish outfit. Many people commented that she even outshone stars like Andrew Garfield and Monica Barbaro with her elegant appearance and classy style at the event.
