Casey Means said in a 2023 interview that she was named after ‘Paul the Apostle’, but legally dropped it from her name after completing her graduation.
She belongs to an influential family. Her father served as an assistant to the 41st US Vice President, Nelson Rockefeller. He also worked on health and human welfare issues at the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare and was a managing partner at PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

After completing her formal education, she started her residency in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery of Oregon Health and Science University to become a surgeon.

She later got disappointed with the US Healthcare System and dropped out of her residency, just 6 months before completion.
Although she is a trained Otorhinolaryngologist (head, neck, and ear), she stopped practising in traditional medicine after dropping her residency.
She later started her medical practice in Portland, Oregon, which she dedicated to pseudoscientific functional medicine.
Oregon Medical Board issued her medical license on 12 July 2018, which was labelled inactive on 1 January 2024.
In August 2019, she co-founded and became the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Levels, a company that offers continuous glucose monitors.
Casey revealed after her mother’s death in January 2021 that she died just 13 days after her pancreatic cancer was diagnosed.
She also promotes various lifestyle products such as dietary supplements, creams, teas, and other products on social media.
In May 2024, she, along with her brother, Calley, wrote a book titled Good Energy: The Surprising Connection Between Metabolism and Limitless Health, which names bad lifestyle as the reason behind poor health.
