Some Lesser Known Facts About Cam Smith
Cam was the Sun Sentinel 7A-6A Player of the Year in 2022 after hitting .435 with six home runs and 32 runs batted in (RBI). In the same year, he ended up as runner-up for the Palm Beach Post’s Baseball Player of the Year award.
Cam Smith started 51 games as a freshman in 2023 at Florida State and hit .258/.326/.517 with 12 home runs and 36 RBI over 209 at-bats.
Cam played collegiate summer baseball in the Cape Cod Baseball League with the Hyannis Harbor Hawks in 2024.
Cam entered as a top prospect in the 2024 Major League Baseball draft in his sophomore season. He was selected by the Chicago Cubs team in the first round, with the 14th overall selection, of the 2024 Major League Baseball draft.
Cam Smith signed a contract with the Chicago Cubs team on 20 July 2024; he received a signing bonus of $5.07 million from the club.
