C. P. Gurnani was brought up by his parents in a middle-class family in Madhya Pradesh.

C. P. Gurnani spent most of his adult life in Chittorgarh, Kota, and Jaipur in Rajasthan.
In 1986, Gurnani started working as the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the company named ‘Perot Systems TSI India Pvt. Ltd.’ which is an information technology service company that specializes in business transformation and application outsourcing. The company was initially set up as HCL Perot.
In 2004, he started working as the President of Headed Global Operations, Sales and Marketing and Competency and Solution Businesses department of the Indian multinational information technology services and consulting company ‘Tech Mahindra.’
