Brie is 16 minutes younger than her twin sister Nikki. The duo made its WWE debut as a tag-team, named The Bellas/The Bellas Twins.
During their high school years, both the sisters played soccer for the Sereno Golden Eagles club. Though Brie said goodbye to the sport after graduating from high school, her elder twin, Nikki, secured a scholarship to play soccer at Grossmont College.

In order to make ends meet, the two even worked as waitresses during their days of struggle.
Brie first appeared on TV as part of the reality show “Meet My Folks.” Owing to this appearance, she, along with her sister, started getting many modeling offers.
The two then participated in the “International Body Doubles Twins Search” before making it to the 2006 edition of WWE Diva Search. Despite failing to make an impact, the WWE still signed them to a developmental contract a few months later.
Their mother, Kathy Colace, is currently engaged to John Laurinaitis, a senior producer in the WWE.
In remembrance of her deceased boyfriend, Brie sports a “Bear Claws” tattoo on her lower stomach. When asked to throw some light on the matter, Brie said this in an interview, “At 18, I had to experience losing my boyfriend to a tragic death. Not only was it sad losing my boyfriend but his beautiful soul. I was fortunate enough to learn from him. Instead of losing faith I gained spirituality. He has a very special place in my heart, always will. The bear claws you see on my lower stomach are in memory of him.”
