Boria Majumdar is an Indian sports journalist, academician and author. He has completed his formal education in the field of History. He was brought into the limelight, for daunting Indian wicket-keeper, Wriddhiman Saha, for not entertaining his requests and calls for an interview.
After completing his post-graduation, in 1999, in the field of History, Boria Majumdar was awarded a scholarship under the Rhodes scholarship programme, under the programme, he completed his Doctorate of Philosophy (DPhil) in Social History of Indian Cricket in October 2000.
Boria Majumdar completed his doctorate in 2004, and his thesis titled, Twenty-Two Yards to Freedom: A Social History of Indian Cricket, was nominated for publication in the Oxford monographs series.
In 2004, his thesis, Twenty-Two Yards to Freedom: A Social History of Indian Cricket, was also published in India.
In 2014, Boria Majumdar co-authored Sachin’s autobiography titled, Playing It My Way. The book’s name has been registered with the Limca Book of Records for selling the most number of copies on the first day of its release.
