Some Lesser Known Facts About Big Boogie
Soon after his birth, Big Boogie moved to Memphis, Tennessee, where he was raised by his parents.
He was raised by his parents in a middle-class black family.

When Big Boogie was just 10 years old, his father passed away on the phone while they were talking. His father was ill from liquor poisoning but kept it secret from his kids.
Big Boogie used to bunk his school classes. He was always only dancing as he was always in rhythm. One day, one of his school teachers got him in the school band where he started drumming.
A few of his friends in his neighbourhood suggested he start rapping. Sharing his experience, Big Boogie was quoted saying in an interview that
My neighborhood made me rap. They were like, āYou can rap, you sound good. It fits you.ā So I started rapping, and my neighborhood got behind me, when I started doing my first little shows.ā
He did not take rapping seriously until he got $500 for one of his performances. He was quoted saying in an interview that
When I found I can make money off it, that itās a hustle, I was like OK. See, where Iām from I didnāt know about the music business. But when I got paid from one show ā I was like, oh my God. I can help my mama out, help my family out.ā
Big Boogie used to suffer from extreme anger issues when he was in his late teens. He used to punch holes in the walls when he used to be angry.
He used to be a barber before getting into the entertainment industry.
Big Boogie has an unreleased song that he wrote about his father that he never released and keeps it for himself to remember his father.
In 2020, Big Boogie created his YouTube channel named āBig Boogie Musicā on which he started uploading his songs. His YouTube channel holds more than 8 lakh 20 thousand subscribers, as of 2024.
