| Controversy | Allegations regarding kidnapping and torture In April 2023, Bhavani Revanna and her son Prajwal Revanna were accused by their driver Kartik of kidnapping and torturing him. He claimed that they had kept him in captivity and forced him to sell his 13 acre land in Holenarasipura. He also revealed that they took his signatures on the land documents and on 20 cheque leaves for withdrawing his money. Later, he filed a police complaint against them but no action was taken by the local police. Some Lesser Known Facts About Bhavani Revanna
She is a former member of the Hassan Zilla panchayat and the chairman of the Education and Health Standing Committee.
Bhavani is an ardent follower of the Indian spiritual Guru Shivakumar Maha Swami.
In January 2023, Bhavani publicly announced that she was the JD(S) candidate for the 2023 Karnataka Legislative Assembly elections for the Hassan constituency. However, her brother-in-law H. D. Kumaraswamy later dismissed her decision after which her party ticket was cancelled.
This led to a family feud as her husband H.D. Revanna wanted her to make her electoral debut. He also stated that if his wife was not given a ticket from the Hassan Assembly segment, he would also not contest from Holenarasipura.
Later, the Janata Dal (Secular) gave the ticket to another candidate named Swaroop Prakash, who later won the elections.
In December 2023, a video went viral on social media in which Bhavani was seen arguing with some villagers and a motorcyclist, who hit her car. She was also seen cursing him for damaging her luxurious car. After the video went viral, many netizens criticized her behaviour and considered her arrogant. Later, her driver filed a complaint against the motorcyclist under section 279 of the IPC.
