In an interview, he shared that during the third year of his engineering, his friends recommended him to play kabaddi as Bhavani was very tall.
When he tried to participate in college nodal, a sports event, he was not selected for any kabaddi team. Later, he joined Vikram Sports Club in Indore to receive training in kabaddi, after which he played in many kabaddi tournaments and decided to make a career in the sport.
He once shared that his parents did not know about him playing kabaddi till he was selected in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL).
He made his Pro Kabaddi League debut in 2017. In PKL season 5, he was bought by Tamil Thalaivas. Throughout the season, he secured 3 raid points in a total of 4 matches.
According to Bhavani, he was not selected by any team in PKL season 6 and season 7 as his performance was not good in PKL season 5. check sources
Later, he joined Star Academy in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh to upskill himself in kabaddi.
In 2020, he played in a local kabaddi tournament during which he dislocated his elbow. After his parents got to know about his injury, his parents advised him to quit kabaddi, continue his studies, and get a regular job. check sources
He considers Ajay Thakur , an Indian kabaddi player, as his ideal player.
In PKL Season 8 in 2021, he was bought again by Tamil Thalaivas for Rs 10 lakhs. He played 21 matches in which he earned 50 raid points out of 111 total raids along with a Super raid.

In 2022, he played as a member of the Madhya Pradesh team in the 69th Senior National Kabaddi Championship.
In the 9th season of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) in 2022, he began his PKL journey with Jaipur Pink Panthers. Throughout the season, Bhavani played in 14 matches, earning a total of 36 raid points. Jaipur Pink Panther was the winner of the PKL season 9.
In season 10 of PKL in 2023, he was retained by Jaipur Pink Panthers. He played 20 matches in which he earned 62 raid points along with a Super raid and a Super 10s.
He once shared that he likes to watch films and go out to relax himself.
