Some Lesser Known Facts About Bhanita Das
Her debutant film won National Award (Best Feature Film), it was after 29 years that any Assamese movie won the award at the 65th National Film Awards ceremony.
The film also bagged three other awards- Bhanita Das for the best child actor, Mallika Das for the best location sound recording, and film director Rima Das for best editing.

The film was shot in Kalardiya village in Chaygaon.
Once Bhanita recalled how her cousin and the director of the movie, âRima Das ,â got the idea for the movie. She revealed that Rima was shooting for her first film âAntardrishti (Man with binoculars)â in Kalardiya village when she was fascinated by a group of boys playing with fake handmade musical instruments. âIt is then Rima ba told me we will do another film,â she claimed.Â
The story of âVillage Rockstarsâ revolves around a 10-year-old girl, âDhunnu,â who aspires to become a rockstar and own an electric guitar.
In 2018, her debutant film, âVillage Rockstars,â became Indiaâs official entry to the Oscars.
