Barun was born in a Punjabi Family in Delhi.

Barun was a naughty child. His mother was often called by his schoolâs Vice Principal for his notorious acts.
His first income was of Rs. 200 which he earned by selling a dinner set in a summer job.
After completing his schooling, Barun went on working for 7 years as an operational manager at a BPO, Jindal Telecom, New Delhi.
He accidentally stepped into the field of acting when his best friend, âKaran Wahiâ was offered a role in the Television serial, âShraddhaâ but that didnât work out for some reasons and Karan forwarded Barunâs images to the director and Barun got selected.
In 2011, his portrayal of an arrogant business tycoon in the TV serial âIss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?â earned him wide popularity.
Initially, he signed âIss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?â just for a year but after the show started gaining popularity, the producer of the show requested him to stay there for long.
Barun has also featured in the short film, Dry Dreams which focuses on the importance of water conservation.
When the news came that Barun is being replaced by some other actor in the serial âIss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?â, few of his fans threatened that they will commit suicide if Barun leaves the show.
Barun & Pashmeen (his wife) met in 9th standard when Pashmeen joined Barunâs class. They are in love since their school days.
