He later became a member of Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea (PDGE).
He made headlines in November 2024 when the Anti-graft National Agency for Financial Investigation (ANIF) raided his office and house for economic fraud.
During the raid, they found many CDs in his house. They were later found to be recordings of him getting intimate with more than 400 women.
The women included the sister of the President, wives of many top government officials, and many other married women. These were recorded at his office, in hotels, and in other places.
Later, they found that he had an affair with his brother’s wife as well, and 2 of his brother’s 4 children were his. He also impregnated his uncle’s wife.
When he was asked about the videos, Engonga claimed that all the videos were recorded with the women’s permission.
After this information came out, one of the women whose video got leaked committed suicide.
The Vice President of Equatorial Guinea, Teddy Nguema, announced after Engonga’s arrest that CCTV cameras would be installed in all government offices nationwide.
Nguema also announced that a medical test of Engonga would be carried out. If he is found infected with any STD (Sexually Transmitted Disease), they would charge him according to the criminal law.
