Inclined towards acting since childhood, Ayesha used to participate in various events in school. Soon after completing her higher secondary education, Ayesha shifted to Chennai to pursue her graduation. In an interview, Ayesha recalled her audition for the television show Ponmagal Vanthal and said that in the audition she was asked to enact a daughter who was not on talking terms with her mother. Further, she revealed that at that time, her real mother was not speaking to her, which helped her to deliver natural acting in the audition. She quoted,
I was skeptical when I went for the audition. The scene they had asked me to enact was that of a daughter who is not on talking terms with her mother. At that time, my mother was really not talking to me. So, I could play the scene in a realistic manner. And finally, I was chosen for the role. I made my debut as a heroine in Ponmagal Vanthal.
