Some Lesser Known Facts About Ayesha Siddiqui
Ayesha Siddiqui is an Indian teacher. The famous Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik is her ex-husband.
In an interview, Shoaib Malik shared that in 2002, Ayesha called him for the first time as one of his fans. At that time Shoaib was in Sharjah for a cricket match. They exchanged their contact numbers and then regularly started talking to each other.
When Shoaib asked her for her pictures, she shared a few photos with him. He liked her pictures and even showed the pictures to his parents.
Later, Shoaib insisted her to meet his parents. However, she started making excuses and said that she would meet them at their wedding.
According to some sources, Ayesha had met Shoaib once before their marriage and instead of introducing herself as Ayesha, she introduced her cousin as Ayesha to Shoaib.
Shoaib said he was shocked to see Ayesha in real. She was overweight and was completely different from her photos. Later, he came to know that she had shared photos of her cousin and not her.
In 2010, after Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza ‘s wedding made the headlines, Ayesha and her parents approached the media and shared details about Ayesha’s marriage with Shoaib. Initially, Malik denied his first marriage, but later, he accepted it. Malik and Ayesha divorced each other in April 2010, and Malik paid Rs 15 crore as an alimony to her. In an interview, Malik talked about his marriage to Ayesha, Malik said,
I was just 20 then, and under a lot of pressure from Ayesha to get married as she was saying that her family was losing face in Hyderabad as word had got around that we were courting. I walked out of my house one morning in June 2002 and went to my friend’s shop and called from there. I got a nikahnama, signed it, thinking the girl I was marrying was the one in the photographs.”
