Some Lesser Known Facts About Aunjaneya Kumar Singh
Anujaneya Kumar scored 49 percent in his class 12 examinations. Despite his below average performance in school, he worked hard to fulfil his dreams.
He qualified for the UPSC civil services examination in 2004, where he secured an All-India Rank of 29 and topped the Hindi medium category.
He began his civil service career in the 2005 batch, where he was assigned to the Sikkim cadre.
In February 2015, he was deputed to Uttar Pradesh, where he initially served as the special secretary of irrigation and water resources, and CEO of the integrated water management project also called Sharda Sahayak project.
He has served as a District Magistrate in several districts like Bulandshahr (2016), Fatehpur (2018–2019), and Rampur (2019–2021).
As a collector of Rampur (2019), he made headlines by taking strict action against SP leader Azam Khan issuing over 60 FIRs also ensuring enforcement of election rules and contributing to the conviction and disqualification of Azam Khan and his son Abdullah.
His time as Divisional Commissioner in Moradabad was marked by developmental initiatives championing inclusive schemes for schoolchildren, farmers, and marginalized communities.
In March 2021, he became Divisional Commissioner of Moradabad Division. He held that post until mid-2025.
After serving around 11 years on deputation in UP, he has been repatriated to his parent cadre, Sikkim, marking the end of his tenure in Uttar Pradesh.
