Atul was a Marathi film producer who was known for his film ‘Dhol -Tashe’ (2015) , which was appreciated for its political plot.
On 15 May 2017, he committed suicide in a Pune hotel by consuming poison.
In his suicide note on Facebook, he mentioned that he was depressed due to financial loss and troubled relationship with his wife.
He claimed that his wife Priyanka allegedly harassed him, threw him out of their home, and he was living out of the house since 6 months. He was also upset as she estranged their children from him, and even defamed and abused him.
