Some Lesser Known Facts About Asser Malik
Asser Malik is a Pakistani entrepreneur who is appointed as the General Manager High Performance at the Pakistan Cricket Board (as of 2021).
He grew up in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan.
Asser was inclined towards sports since childhood. In his school days, he actively participated in sports like football and hockey.
After completing his graduation, Asser interned as an HR Manager at Engro Foods Limited, Pakistan, for two months.
Malik began his career as a Key Account Manager with AkzoNobel, a Dutch multinational company, in June 2012. He worked in the company for around a year.
Subsequently, he joined Coca-Cola Beverages Pakistan Limited as a Management Trainee. After working in the company for a few months, he was promoted to sales specialist.
In 2014, Asser joined Lahore Grammar School in Paragon, Lahore, as an event coordinator.
With an aim to promote the history of Pakistan, Asser co-founded Desi Tour Project, a Disco Tour Bus to explore the cultural and religious places of Pakistan, in 2015.

- In December 2018, Malik joined Multan Sultans, a Pakistani professional Twenty20 franchise cricket team, as operations and special projects head.

Thereafter, he worked as a curator at Global Shapers Community.
He then joined Grassroots Cricket as an Operations Director.
Asser is also the Managing Director of MLK Management, a cricket player management agency in Pakistan.
He owns a franchise of Last Man Stands, the world’s largest amateur cricket league, in Pakistan.

Asser is well versed in three languages- Hindi, English, and Urdu.
Asser tied the knot with the Pakistani Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai on 9 November 2021 in a close-knit Nikaah ceremony at Yousafzai’s residence in Birmingham, Central England. Malala shared the news of her marriage among her followers through her Twitter handle. She wrote,
Today marks a precious day in my life. Asser and I tied the knot to be partners for life. We celebrated a small nikkah ceremony at home in Birmingham with our families. Please send us your prayers. We are excited to walk together for the journey ahead.”

Surprisingly, in one of her interviews with the British Vogue magazine in July 2021 (four months before Malala’s marriage with Asser Malik), Malala said that she was not sure if she would ever marry someone in her life. In her words,
I still don’t understand why people have to get married. If you want to have a person in your life, why do you have to sign marriage papers, why can’t it just be a partnership?”
The first time Malala and Asser were spotted together was during a cricket match in 2019. Later, the duo attended many cricket matches together. Asser has posted several pictures with Malala from the cricket grounds.

In July 2021, Malik was a part of Yousafzai’s birthday celebrations. Later, Asser on his Twitter handle shared a picture from her birthday celebrations and wrote,
Happy Birthday to the most amazing @Malala @iamsrk had to make a necessary cameo of course.”
