Ashok Anand is a businessman based in Dubai.
He hit the news in January 2024 when the foreign secretary of Pakistan, Muhammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi, accused Ashok of being a RAW (Research and Analysis Wing) agent and killing two Pakistani citizens.
The foreign secretary further accused India of extra-territorial and extra-judicial targeted killings of Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Riaz Ahmed alias Abu Qasim and Pathankot attack mastermind Shahid Latif.
In an interview on 8 April 2024, Ashok Anand denied the allegations and talked about being surprised to see his name on TV. He further said,
I have no information about this. I was surprised when my name appeared on TV. I was accused that I am a peddler of RAW and that I have a hand in the murders taking place in Pakistan. But I don’t even know anyone in Pakistan, I just do business in Dubai.”
He stated that it was his friends who first informed him of the news and warned him that Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence), might follow him.
He returned to India after his passport went viral and he started to receive threatening calls.

Ashok Anand used to own a cyber cafe in Dubai which was handled by Mohammad Ali, a citizen of Pakistan. He was arrested in Pakistan after the incident.
