Although she was a supporter of the Democrat Party in the tradition of her hometown, she switched to supporting the Republican Party in 1998 in support of the American politician, Jeb Bush.
In 1999, she was selected by Jeb Bush to serve as a student representative on the Board of Regents, a now-defunct governing body for Floridaās university system
At the beginning of her career, she practised commercial litigation at Holland & Knight law firm and often volunteered to help the victims of domestic violence.

Later, she joined the United States Attorneyās Office as a federal prosecutor in Jacksonville, Florida where she prosecuted cases involving drugs, firearms, and fraud.

At 31, she served as the youngest judge in Florida for the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit Court of Florida in 2006.

I am calling on Netflix to protect our children and common decency by removing Cuties from its streaming platform.ā
She further signed a letter along with three fellow attorney generals to the Netflix CEO demanding the removal of the film from its platform.
After Donald Trumpās loss of presidency against the former American President, Joe Biden in 2020, she signed a legal brief asking the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn a ruling that allowed the counting of late-arriving absentee ballots.
In 2023, she filed a lawsuit against Joe Bidenās administration claiming that it was seeking retaliation for Floridaās law restricting the deduction of union dues from the wages of employees by the public sector employer.
She further claimed that the administrationās threat of withholding $800 million in funds from the state of Florida violated the Spending Clause and Administrative Procedure Act.
In October 2023, she filed a lawsuit against the American multinational technology company Meta, accusing it of causing serious harm to children through its social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
In October 2024, she filed a lawsuit against the Department of Justice alleging that the Departmentās attempt to stop independent investigation by Florida following the second attempted assassination of President Donald Trump was unlawful.
