Kaur started learning music from Ustad Puran Shahkoti when she was five years old.
It was her father, Harjinder Singh, who motivated her to sing Gurbani.
Asees has received various accolades for singing her version of Gurbani.
When the music composer, Salim Merchant, listened to her voice, he called her to Mumbai to give singing auditions.
Kaur has been a participant in the singing reality shows, Awaz Punjab Di and Indian Idol.
She rose to fame in 2016, after singing the song “Bolna” from the film ‘Kapoor and Sons.’
Asees has lent her voice to many Bollywood songs including Beat It Bijuriya,” “Piya Re,” “Tera Hua (Unplugged),” “Jaan Nisaar,” “Nai Lagda,” and “Ve Mahi.”
She considers Arijit Singh and Noor Jahan as her inspirations.
