According to sources, he was dealing with kidney disease and was undergoing dialysis four days a week. He also said that he needed 50 million Pakistani rupees for his treatment, but was encountering hurdles in securing the funds. During an interview with a Pakistani news agency, he appealed for financial assistance, he said,
I am undergoing dialysis, âmujhe doctors ne jawab dediya haiâ (Doctors arenât hopeful). They say I need to be shifted to America for treatment, just like Alamgir. I am in need of financial assistance and I would urge the government to provide me with that. I have no car, and a family to support. I have been suffering from this ailment for seven years and now, both my kidneys have failed. They tried to do a kidney transplant earlier but it was unsuccessful.
