Arch is the third generation of the Manning family to make a name for himself in American football, specifically the quarterback position. His paternal uncles Peyton Manning and Eli Manning played in the National Football League (NFL).

Besides American football, Arch also played basketball in high school.

Due to a spinal condition, Arch’s father was unable to make a career in American football.
In 2019, Arch became the varsity starting quarterback during his freshman year, the first freshman to do so in at least 40 years at Isidore Newman School in New Orleans.
Arch led Newman to a 26-point victory in his debut match.
Arch’s final stats as a freshman at the end of the season were 2,509 yards and 34 touchdowns which earned him the MaxPreps National Freshman of the Year award.
In the 2022 season, Arch was appointed as the captain of the Newman football’s senior team.
Arch had throws of more than 8500 yards and 115 touchdowns by the time he finished his high school career. He also broke the school record for passing yards and passing touchdowns held by his uncles Eli Manning and Peyton Manning.
Arch helped Isidore Newman to a 7-3 overall record, including a 3-1 district mark, and an appearance in the Division III semifinals in 2021.
Arch was selected to participate in the U.S. Army Bowl in 2022.
Arch was rated no 1 nationally by 247Sports in 2022.
Arch’s family did not allow him to interact with the media and had a restricted social media presence as they wanted him to keep out of controversies. He made his account public only after he began to play for the University of Texas at Austin team in 2023.
Arch’s college football career began in 2023 when he joined the Texas Longhorns football team. On his college debut, he completed 2 out of 5 passing attempts of 30 yards and helped his team win the match against the Texas Tech Red Raiders football team.

Arch’s first major collegiate appearance came in the third week of the 2024 season after the injury of Quinn Ewers who was the first-choice quarterback. He threw for 223 yards and 4 touchdowns and ran for a 67-yard touchdown in a 56-7 win against the UTSA Roadrunners football team.
